While John Acklands side collected their first victory of the season last weekend and a hard-earned one it was against Cronulla the young Cowboys have put together 26-16 and 26-20 triumphs over Melbourne (home) and Newcastle (away) in their last two outings.

The Vodafone Junior Warriors last week recaptured elements of the power game which so distinguishes them from their rivals. It was fully evident in most of their tries in their 24-20 win against the Sharks.

Collectively they gained 1438 metres. Interchange hooker Trent Bishop provided a game-high 156 metres from 17 runs while Villiami Lolohea, Ngataua Hukatai, David Fusitua and Adam Tuimavave-Gerrard also topped 100 metres with Lafu Feagaiga and captain David Bhana going close.

The Vodafone Junior Warriors have been forced to make a change to their original starting line-up, Sam Lisone coming into the starting front row for James Taylor. The confirmed interchange players are Bishop, Abraham Papalii, Tuimavave-Gerrard and Vincent Afoa. Those omitted are Sam Cook and Solomone Kata.
