Vodafone Warriors prop Russell Packer is set to make his comeback from injury via the NRL today after originally being named to turn out for the Auckland Vulcans in their New South Wales Cup clash against North Sydney at Mount Smart Stadium (12.05pm kick-off).
Packers name was missing from the confirmed Vulcans line-up for the first leg of todays triple header (followed by the NYC encounter between the Vodafone Junior Warriors and South Sydney at 1.55pm and the NRL fixture at 4.05pm).
The Vodafone Warriors wont confirm their final side until an hour before kick-off but Packer, whos returning from a bicep injury, has been running with the NRL side this week including yesterdays final run before todays clash against the Rabbitohs.
Among a number of changes to the Vulcans team, Vodafone Warriors fullback Glen Fisiiahi starts at fullback after being on bereavement leave. His inclusion results in regular fullback Zoram Watene moving to the bench.
Also playing for the Vulcans for the second week running is veteran
Vodafone Warriors centre Jerome Ropati, again wearing jersey No 19.
