A fourth straight crown is the end goal for the Vodafone Warriors-sponsored Kiwi Ferns when they face France in their campaign-opening match at the womens Rugby League World Cup at Tetleys Stadium in Dewsbury early tomorrow (NZT). Photo: Photosport.

The Kiwi Ferns were given a rousing reception just hours before their departure when they did a lap of honour at halftime during the Vodafone Warriors NRL clash against Brisbane at Mount Smart Stadium last Sunday.

The level of support shown for the Kiwi Ferns at Mount Smart Stadium has been underlined during the week by a huge response to a Go Kiwi Ferns post on the Vodafone Warriors Facebook page. So far it has been seen by almost 62,000 people and has attracted more than 3300 likes.

Now settled in at their base in the north of England, they Kiwi Ferns are favoured to win the world title once again, having claimed it the only three times the event has been held since 2000.

In the last tournament in Australia in 2008 they trounced the Jillaroos 34-0 in the final a week before the Kiwis beat the Kangaroos 34-20 to claim the mens World Cup for the first time in history.

Honey Hireme aka Honey Bill Williams will lead the Kiwi Ferns against France tomorrow, the match kicking off at 4.00pm local time with England facing Australia in the second match at 6.00pm.
