All manner of festive season cheer will be on offer at the Vodafone Warriors’ annual members-only Christmas barbecue at Mount Smart Stadium on Thursday evening (December 11).

While there has already been a huge response for the event since registrations opened, anyone who is a member can still register to attend by emailing memberships@warriors.co.nz or calling one of the club’s membership team on 0800 839 839.

All members coming along on Thursday will not only be able to revel in the Christmas-flavoured fare on offer but they’ll also be able get a taste of football, watching a Vodafone Warriors training session on the new Mount Smart Stadium No 3 field.

The Christmas action will be happening in the John Walker Lounge and on the No 5 just behind the lounge.

Features will be:

  • Santa’s Sizzle | Complimentary barbecue and soft drinks
  • Santa’s Grotto | Meet Santa, get a present and a photo
  • The North Pole | Featuring the Penguins of Madagascar, get your face painted, eat a Tip Top ice cream on bean bags under the snow and get a selfie with the penguins
  • Santa’s Workshop | Lots of fun for the kids, colouring in, become a POM spy, word games and make your own wristbands
  • The Elves’ Playground | Have fun on the passing wall, bouncy castle and inflatable obstacle course, work on your style with Jerome Ropati in skills and drills
  • Holden Cup | Get up close to the NYC Holden Cup Trophy won by the Vodafone Junior Warriors for the third time in five years
  • Music from the FLAVA truck
  • Chill out in the shade under the Red Bull wigwam

Adults only:

  • The Jolly Bar
  • Enjoy a complimentary Woodstock or Wild Buck
  • Buck or Bill quiz with Wild Buck prize
  • Woodstock introduction 6.30pm followed by announcing Buck or Bull quiz winners
  • Players will appear at 7.00pm to mix and mingle with members. Be holding a Woodstock in your hand and you could be selected by a player to receive a Woodstock ‘Kit in a Can’
