Manu Vatuvei's sternum injury has him rated an unlikely starter for the Vodafone Warriors' 10th-round NRL clash against the Parramatta Eels at Pirtek Stadium on Saturday (3.00pm kick-off local time; 5.00pm NZT).
While the 29-year-old picked up the injury in the first half of Saturday night's match against Cronulla he played on before leaving the field 13 minutes into the secoond half.
The full extent of the injury is yet to be determined.
Vatuvei has appeared in each of the Vodafone Warriors' last 31 matches stretching back to the third round last year (the only match he missed in 2014 was the second round clash against St Georga Illawarra). On Saturday he scored his seventh try of the season and the 142nd of his career.
While Vatuvei is in doubt fellow veteran Sam Rapira is expected to be available again this weekend after being ruled out for the Cronulla match with a recurrence of his hamstring injury.
Fullback Sam Tomkins (knee) is on track to make his comeback in the club's 12th-round match against Newcastle at Mount Smart Stadium on May 31 (following the 11th-round bye).
