He was brought to the club to add experience, professionalism and help unlock Shaun Johnson's seemingly limitless potential – so round one should be considered a good start.
Warriors recruit Blake Green was instrumental in his new side's 32-20 round one win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Perhaps the biggest sign of Green's influence on the match, however, was the performance of his halves partner Shaun Johnson.
With Green shouldering the bulk of the playmaking responsibilities, the former Golden Boot winner was afforded the freedom to play his natural attacking game.
Johnson finished the round one win with two line breaks and two try assists, showing off some of his trademark dazzling footwork throughout.
"That's the Greeny effect," fellow new recruit Tohu Harris said.
"I thought both halves and Roger [Tuivasa-Sheck] played really well. Greeny got us to the points and Shaun and Roger executed when it counted," Harris said.
"That's something as forwards you really look for out of your spine. There were a few times where I thought they could both have done a lot better however, and they're of that opinion themselves."

Tuivasa-Sheck also credited Green for his side's balance on attack, saying the 31-year-old's control helped him focus more on "running the footy" himself.
"Greeny is there to take control and let me and Shaun pop up around that. On the weekend you could really see he was doing that and Shaun was feeling good running it. He looks great when he does that as well."
Coach Stephen Kearney said on the whole he was pleased with his halves' performance.
The return of Johnson's running game was pleasing to see and Green's control was "a good start" for round one, he said.
Green has been named to again start in the six jersey this Saturday, despite missing Tuesday's training with a stomach bug.
The Warriors face the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday from Mt Smart Stadium.
