If you think your group has what it takes, then ‘Be the Band’ might be a piece of you.
Launched by the Vodafone Warriors today, it’s a nationwide search for the club’s own resident band, a group to belt out great tunes in the Entertainment Precinct on home game days at Mount Smart Stadium; a band which will not only capture the mood but will also add another layer to the game day experience for members and fans.
As rugby league’s ‘Battle of the Bands’ equivalent, ‘Be the Band’ will seek to turn New Zealand’s undiscovered band into a tour de force at our house.
“Game day at Mount Smart Stadium isn’t about the footy alone but also about music and fantastic entertainment; so much so we’ve decided we want our very own official house band,” said Vodafone Warriors fan engagement manager Aaron Lawton.
“So now we’re calling on Kiwi bands to submit a short video showing them in action and telling us why they should become our resident band. A love of the Vodafone Warriors is clearly a must!”

Once all entries have been received, Lawton said three would be chosen as finalists and have the chance of thrilling members and fans pre-game in the Entertainment Precinct at one of the Vodafone Warriors’ three regular season matches against the Melbourne Storm (Sunday, July 22), the Newcastle Knights (Friday, August 10) and the Penrith Panthers (Friday, August 24).
After the three finalists have performed, the club’s official house band will be selected and will have the opportunity to play on the field at halftime in the Vodafone Warriors’ last regular season home game of the year against the Canberra Raiders on Friday, August 31.
So, have you got what it takes for ‘Be the Band’?
Then make sure you register to be in with a chance to show us what you’ve got to earn a shot at becoming the Vodafone Warriors’ first official house band.
