Extended squad confirmed for trial

A squad of 26 players has been named for the Vodafone Warriors’ final NRL trial against Wests Tigers at the Northland Events Centre in Whangarei on Saturday (5.00pm kick-off).

Included are five players yet to appear in a first-grade game – Chanel Harris-Tavita, Patrick Herbert, Adam Keighran, Hayze Perham and Adam Pompey.

The Vodafone Warriors travelled to Northland this morning ahead of their final training session at the Northland Events Centre tomorrow which is open to all fans. It starts at 10.30am.

This afternoon the Vodafone Warriors along with Wests Tigers had a powhiri before the Vodafone Warriors players were to take part in a club cluster, mixing with as many as 250 local players for a range of skills and drills.

At the same time a group of Vodafone Warriors players has been involved in a packed programme of community appearances since yesterday. Joining the team today was Northland born and bred veteran Adam Blair.

Training commitments in Auckland yesterday prevented him being involved in a visit to his old school Whangarei Boys’ High School but today he was able to enjoy a special experience at Te Kura o Otangarei where he started his education.
