Tough on-the-road challenges await the Vodafone Warriors when they travel to Canberra for their Canterbury Cup NSW and Jersey Flegg Cup contests on Sunday.

After grinding out an impressive win over Penrith, the Nathan Cayless-coached Canterbury Cup side was edged 18-14 by second-placed South Sydney last weekend.

The task is even more demanding this Sunday when they take on the table-topping Mounties at a venue that’s never easy.

After five rounds the Vodafone Warriors are lying 11th on the table after a win, a draw and three losses.

Coach Greg Boulous and his Vodafone Junior Warriors will be hunting a rebound win after their withering late comeback came up just short against the Rabbitohs last weekend. They roared back into the contest with three tries in a matter of minutes but couldn’t maintain the momentum as they fell to a 26-34 defeat (not helped by just one conversion from six attempts).

After four rounds they sit 10th on the ladder with three points from a win, a draw and two losses. The Raiders are two points ahead after sweeping Parramatta aside 30-12.
