Gameday at Mt Smart Stadium just got a whole lot sweeter this weekend with free all-you-can-eat Mr Whippy ice cream for kids at Sunday’s clash with the Newcastle Knights.
It's Kids’ Day Out and anyone who holds a child’s ticket* or kid’s membership pass will be entitled to as much Mr Whippy ice cream as they can eat.
“This game against the Knights is our first Sunday game at home since last year and that is, we think, cause for a celebration,” Vodafone Warriors CEO Cameron George said.
“Sunday afternoon footy is great for the whole family and we are encouraging our fans to get down to Mt Smart Stadium and get behind the boys when we take on the Knights.
“There’s going to be so much for the kids here this weekend from a mobile barnyard, to free carnival rides to the Mitre 10 Mini Golf Masters. It’s all awesome stuff but we reckon the free ice cream will be the most popular attraction of all.”
The Mr Whippy van will be parked in the Entertainment Precinct just in front of the giant screen and kids will be invited to line up and get a free soft-serve ice cream on game day.
An usher will be onsite to help manage the queues and patrons will be asked to show their ticket or membership card at which point their hand will be stamped to confirm access to the free ice creams.
There will be a limit of one ice cream per child, per time they line up. But there will be no limit on how many times
* To be eligible for a child’s ticket, you must be 15 years old or under.
