Here at the Vodafone Warriors, we believe everyone should have the chance to go to the footy, regardless of their financial situation. We also know that for some families, no matter how passionate they are about rugby league, it can be a stretch too far.
We are on a mission to change that.
Introducing our Gift of Footy programme, in association with our charity partner, KidsCan.
What is it?
We’ve created a low-cost bundle containing one adult and one child’s GA ticket for our upcoming game against the Storm on Saturday, June 8 that you can buy right now by clicking this link. But here’s the key. The ticket package isn’t for you. Instead, we’ll take the double pass you buy and our charity partner KidsCan will help us find a family in need to donate it to thanks to you and your generosity.
Who is KidsCan?
KidsCan is a wonderful charity partner of ours who provide Kiwi kids in need with food, clothing and health items at school, so they can get into the classroom in a position to learn.
We’ve been aligned with KidsCan for a long time and every year our players go out to low decile schools and give the students Vodafone Warriors-branded raincoats.
This year we want to ramp things up.
How can I help?
We think this is a great cause. And we know our fans and partners will love it too. That’s why we’ve created this product. The Vodafone Warriors guarantee that every single double pass will be gifted to a child at a KidsCan school. You can help by clicking on this link and making your purchase today.
If this is such a good cause? Why don’t you just give the tickets away yourself?
Good question. It costs a lot of money to put on a game day at Mt Smart Stadium. We’re on the hook for everything from stadium rental to costs for security and traffic management. Even so, we want to make sure we are chipping in too. That’s why we’ve already reduced the price of this package considerably. Normally, it can cost up to $40 for an adult and child to attend our games if they purchase GA tickets at the gate. This is definitely not about the money. It’s about impact and making a difference. Finally, we also feel getting our fans and partners to help us with this will have so much more impact. Together, we can achieve great things.
