Glenora 48 Richmond 16
A double to playmaker Jalahn Iole-Pauga on debut was among the highlights of Glenora's big victory over Richmond at Lawson Park. In a dominant forward showing, Daniel Reuelu-Buchanan and Graeme Sua-Poe were standouts for the west Aucklanders.
Marist 43 Papakura 22
A spectacular five-try haul from centre Raymon Vaega saw Marist to victory over Papakura, with the win keeping the Saints in touching distance of the competition's top four. Scores were locked at the break, but Marist ran away with it in the final 20 minutes.
Pt Chevalier 26 Bay Roskill 22
Pt Chevalier picked up their third win of 2019, outlasting a determined Bay Roskill at Walker Park. Fullback Kane Talea was a strong performer, while Kouma Samson laid a solid platform through the middle of the park.
Otahuhu 14 Howick 24
A strong showing from the Howick pack laid the platform for victory over the Leopards at Bert Henham Park. Up 14-0 at the break, the Hornets went on with the job despite Otahuhu being much improved in the second spell. Reece Charlie stood in at hooker following the loss of captain Jethro Friend to injury, while Nick Wilson was solid out wide.
Northcote 44 Mangere East 20
The Northcote Tigers continue to set the pace in the SAS Fox Memorial Premiership Qualifiers and are now undefeated after seven rounds thanks to Saturday's win over Mangere East. The Tigers led narrowly at the break but were too good in the second spell, with Amoa Tuli and David Bhana scoring doubles in the win.
Mt Albert 30 Manurewa 10
The Mt Albert Lions held onto the Roope Rooster challenge trophy with a win against Manurewa. The Lions had led 16-6 at half-time. Corey Seator and Preston Riki were among the best for coach John Ackland, both scoring doubles.
Rd 9 Fox Championship Qualifiers
Waitemata 24 Ponsonby 16
Waitemata did it the hard way against Ponsonby, having to come from behind to claim their third win of the year. Second-rower Daren Eliaba was among the Seagulls' best players.
Hibiscus Coast 40 Otara 30
The Hibiscus Coast picked up another crucial two points in their push for promotion, getting past Otara at Stanmore Bay Reserve. Halfback Nathan Ashe was strong for coach Brian McClennan as the Raiders picked up their sixth win of the year.
Mt Wellington 24 Northern Brothers 16
Two tries to back-rower Joshua Iongi proved the difference for Mt Wellington at Thompson Park. Scores were locked at 12-apiece at the break and Northern Brothers led early in the second spell, before the Warriors powered home in the final quarter of the match.
Ellerslie 78 Papatoetoe 10
Ellerslie continued their charge towards promotion after a win over Papatoetoe at Ellerslie Domain. Up 38-0 at the break, the Eagles piled on even more points in the second 40 to run away with it. Marcel Connal and Salili Tu’a were standouts for the Eagles, both scoring doubles.
Te Atatu 30 Pakuranga 14
The Te Atatu Roosters remain at the top of the ladder after beating Pakuranga at home. A solid opening 20 minutes saw Te Atatu lead 16-4 at half-time. Anthony Goulton scored a double in the win, while David Dyer was also strong.
Manukau 38 New Lynn 22
Doubles to Desmond Toofohe and Koronato John helped lift the Manukau Magpies to victory over the New Lynn Stags at Moyle Park. Manukau led by just two at the break, but were too good in the second spell.
