Canterbury Cup and JFC teams named

New signing Josh Curran has been named to make his Vodafone Warriors signing against his old club – and do so alongside former Kiwi Issac Luke – in Sunday’s Canterbury Cup NSW clash at North Sydney Oval.

The 20-year-old Curran’s signing was officially announced today and hours later he was included on the bench to play against North Sydney.

Curran has played most of the season for the Bears, the Sydney Roosters' feeder club this season, although he made his NRL debut against Melbourne in the sixth round in April.

He has joined the club’s NRL squad replacing Solomone Kata, who was released on Monday.

The Vodafone Warriors will be able to draw on ample NRL experience in the shape of 264-game veteran Luke. He drops out of the club’s NRL squad to play in the Canterbury Cup this weekend.

The Vodafone Junior Warriors, beaten 30-16 by Canterbury-Bankstown last weekend, also face the Bears on Sunday but they’re at Mount Smart Stadium still chasing their first home win of the year.
