Vodafone Warriors utility back Gerard Beale is expected to be side-lined for up to nine months after having surgery in Sydney on Monday.
The 29-year-old Kiwi international fractured the patella in his left knee after a collision with fellow Kiwi Jared Waerea-Hargreaves just eight minutes into the Vodafone Warriors’ encounter with the Sydney Roosters on Sunday.
Following a successful operation, he took to his Instagram account yesterday posting: “Thank you for all the messages over the past couple of days. Sucks that my 2k19 season is over. Looking forward to the comeback, doc says it’s stronger now lesss go!”
It’s hoped Beale, who has played 11 Tests and 187 NRL games, will be fit to play again in May next year.
