Two iconic New Zealand organisations are tackling the 2022 NRL season together with TAB NZ confirmed as an official sponsor of the Vodafone Warriors.
The partnership is an opportunity for the TAB to back a popular professional sports organisation as part of its commitment to support the New Zealand sporting and racing sectors.
The partnership takes in signage at Vodafone Warriors home games in New Zealand and naming rights for the TAB Warriors Clubrooms at Mount Smart Stadium, along with content partnering through various channels such as social media.
TAB NZ general manager customer and betting Simon Thomas says the TAB is proud to partner with the Vodafone Warriors, who have been part of the NRL since 1995 - one year before sports betting was offered in New Zealand through the TAB.
“So many Vodafone Warriors fans keep the faith every year with their loyal support of the team at games, through fan channels, or with a bet on the Vodafone Warriors through the TAB so this partnership is a natural fit,” said Thomas.
“TAB NZ is proud to be associated with a team that is a big part of the sporting fabric in New Zealand. We’ll be looking forward to working closely with them around match days in New Zealand when circumstances allow and creating engaging content with the Warriors on their journey through the 2022 season.”
Vodafone Warriors CEO Cameron George said the club was delighted to have TAB NZ onboard.
“We’ve had a long relationship with each other across the club’s history but this takes it to a new level through such a strong presence on game days,” he said.
“TAB NZ will be a big part of what is going to be a huge day when the Vodafone Warriors play their first match at Mount Smart Stadium in close to three years on July 3 (against Wests Tigers).
“We appreciate the support TAB NZ provides across sport at all levels in New Zealand and now they’re going to deliver a key feature of our home game entertainment.”
As well as the July 3 game against Wests Tigers, the Vodafone Warriors have three more games at Mount Smart Stadium to follow against Melbourne (July 29), Canterbury Bankstown (August 12) and Gold Coast (September 3).
