Five of the Vodafone Warriors’ most promising junior players headline a Sky Sport Future Warriors Selection to face the Wests Tigers Cubs in Sunday’s curtain-raiser ahead of the club’s homecoming NRL clash at Mount Smart Stadium.
The match will parade the Vodafone Warriors’ future on a day when the present will be in focus with the past looking on.
Included in the under-18 line-up are fullback Sefanaia Cowley-Lupo, winger Eric Vaafusuaga, centre Ali Leiataua, prop Tamakaimoana Whareaorere and second rower Jacob Laban who have all been based in Redcliffe alongside the Vodafone Warriors’ NRL squad.
The match is a precursor to the Vodafone Warriors’ bid to return to the New South Wales Rugby League’s S G Ball Cup (under-19) next season.
Coaching the side is Grant Pocklington while long-time former NRL forward Adam Blair is assistant coach.
