Big middle forward Ben Murdoch-Masila is expected to be available to play next week.
The 31-year-old Mate Ma’a Tonga international has been out since June 12 after dislocating his left elbow in the round 14 encounter with Cronulla-Sutherland.
Murdoch-Masila was in extreme pain as he was helped from the field before subsequently having surgery.
He has trained strongly this week to stay on track for a clearance to play next week.
While Murdoch-Masila is in line to return, back rower Bayley Sironen won’t be available for last two games of the club’s 2022 campaign.
He has been hampered during the season by an osteitis pubis complaint. After missing some games earlier in the year he has been able to manage the issue over the second half of the season but, based on his long-term health and readiness for 2023, he is now facing surgery.
Loose forward Jazz Tevaga and halfback Ronald Volkman have both had successful shoulder operations and are now in recovery.
