The One New Zealand Warriors have today released their 2023 season launch video ahead of their first-round encounter with the Newcastle Knights at Wellington’s Sky Stadium on Friday night.
With a soundtrack composed by Kiwi musician Luke Whaanga, this campaign celebrates the club’s reconnection with Aotearoa New Zealand and with its fans who have been a source of strength during its three-year exile.
“The four homecoming games in 2022 reaffirmed how important it is for us to be in New Zealand and together with those who mean the most to our club,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.
“The concept of Ūkaipō acknowledges the deep connection with our homeland but also our fans whose loyalty fuels our determination for success.
“Working with Luke has been a special experience and a fitting way to mark our homecoming season and reconnection with country.”
Featuring club icons, members of the current playing squad and fans from around the county, the season launch campaign is the first creative collaboration between the club and new partner SENZ (Sports Entertainment Network) and subsidiary Rainmaker Productions.
Rainmaker CEO Richard Simkiss is delighted the company was able to be part of this milestone season for the club.
“SENZ and Rainmaker exist to connect brands with their fans, so what better way to mark our new partnership with the One New Zealand Warriors than to help launch their homecoming season,” he said.
“We’re proud of what our team has achieved with this campaign and look forward to sharing the launch video at the club’s season opener on Friday night.”
The season launch video will be shown on the big screen at Sky Stadium with a special live performance of Ūkaipō by Luke Whaanga at Mount Smart Stadium on Sunday, March 26 when the One New Zealand Warriors host the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs in their round four contest.
- Tickets for the round one game between the One New Zealand Warriors and the Newcastle Knights at Sky Stadium on Friday, March 3 are available for purchase through Ticketek.
