Eels lose four players to New South Wales Origin side

The One New Zealand Warriors will face a Parramatta side missing three and possibly four New South Wales State of Origin players in Saturday’s vital 19th-round encounter at CommBank Stadium in Sydney (5.30pm kick-off local time; 7.30pm NZT).

With Queensland winning the first two matches of the series, Blues coach Brad Fittler today named a vastly changed side for Origin III at Accor Stadium in Sydney on Wednesday week (July 12).

He retained Eels playmaker Mitchell Moses in the halves, recalled Parramatta front rower Reagan Campbell-Gillard and fullback Clint Gutherson and included back rower J’maine Hopgood as 19th man. Eels prop Junior Paulo, who played in the first two matches of the series, was among the players Fittler dropped as New South Wales seeks to avoid a whitewash.

Moses, Campbell-Gillard and Gutherson will miss Parramatta’s clash against the One New Zealand Warriors but Hopgood is likely to be released for the match.

While Fittler has made multiple changes yet again, Maroons coach Billy Slater has named a 17 showing only two forced changes from Origin II with ex-Warriors fullback Reece Walsh suspended and front rower Thomas Flegler injured.
