The One New Zealand Warriors have fully endorsed the penalties handed out by the NRL to Josh Curran following his court case in Port Macquarie last week.
Curran avoided conviction after entering a guilty plea to an assault charge relating to an incident in Port Maquarie last October.
Following an NRL Integrity Unit review of the case, the NRL issued a breach notice this week proposing a two-match suspension, a $10,000 fine and a requirement for Curran to complete education and training as advised by the NRL.
One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George said the club supported the action taken by the NRL.
Curran was withdrawn from the One New Zealand Warriors’ match against South Sydney last Friday night.
The NRL has indicated this will count towards the suspension leaving Curran available for selection for the club’s round 20 match against Cronulla Sutherland at Go Media Stadium Mt Smart on Sunday, July 16.
