The One Zealand Warriors recently hosted an inspiring cultural night at Go Media Stadium Mt Smart for their Sky Sport Future Warriors youth academy players.
Divided into two parts, the event began with a celebration of the players' diverse cultural backgrounds.
Wellbeing and education manager Jerry Seuseu said the One New Zealand Warriors are a Pasifika club which thrives on the strengths and values of each individual's heritage; the evening was a celebration of exactly that.
Central to the event were the eight prevailing values of the Pasifika people, reflecting the club's commitment to holistic development.
Two panels, featuring past and present One New Zealand Warriors NRL players, shared invaluable insights for a successful NRL career, reinforcing the idea that self-awareness is key.
The night culminated in a traditional communal meal, symbolising unity through diversity. Parents of the young players expressed deepened connections with the club and appreciation for their cultures being showcased.
This event exemplifies the One Zealand Warriors' dedication to nurturing talent, celebrating diversity and fostering a strong sense of identity among their future stars, Seuseu said.
In the competitive NRL landscape, the Warriors stand out by prioritising holistic development and wellbeing, ensuring their players not only excel on the field but also in life.
