Stern challenge for NSW Cup side in curtain raiser

Nothing changes for the One New Zealand Warriors’ New South Wales Cup side tonight.

Just like last week, they need to win – or draw – to be assured of holding onto second spot on the ladder in the second to last round of the regular season.

They face the Sea Eagles in the early game at Daniel Anderson Stadium (5.30pm kick-off) with the visitors just as desperate to win to continue their push for a higher finish for the finals.

They’re coming off a loss to Penrith but they’re just one point outside the top four. Included in their line-up are former Warriors Nathaniel Roache and Brad Abbey.

The Wa

rriors named a side earlier in the week which included NRL players in hooker Freddy Lussick, halfback Ronald Volkman, centre Viliami Vailea, winger Edward Kosi and prop Tom Ale but the latter was last night added to the first-grade team’s interchange bench.

A grinding 26-16 win over Western Suburbs in Hamilton last week was the One New Zealand Warriors' third on end after previous successes against Canberra and Penrith.
