Front rower Addin Fonua-Blake slipped straight back into his 2023 form collecting three Dally M points in the One New Zealand Warriors’ first-round loss to the Sharks at Go Media Stadium on Friday night.

The Mate Ma’a Tonga captain was a constant threat in his 56 minutes on the field.

Scoring the club’s first try of the season – and almost a second in the second half – he made 220 metres from 22 rounds (second-best in the match behind Tohu Harris’ 237 metres).

He produced two line breaks, six tackle breaks and 61 post-contact metres as well as a clean sheet on defence with 23 tackles and no misses or ineffective tackles.

He was the only Warriors player to collect Dally M points with Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes awarded six points, centre Siosifa Talakai two and interchange forward Tom Hazelton one.

Fonua-Blake was also named in the nrl.com team of the round.
