SG Ball Team List: Demanding end to campaign

Consecutive defeats have left the One New Zealand Warriors with a challenging end to their SG Ball Cup (under-19) campaign.

After winning three of their first five games they have dropped their last two to Illawarra and Canberra resulting in them sliding to 10th on the ladder.

They remain on six points, now three outside the top six where they need to finish to play finals football.

It means they would have to win both of their last two games against Cronulla Sutherland and St George Illawarra as well as needing help with other results.

For now, the sole aim for coach Grant Pocklington and his players is to rediscover winning form in their eighth-round clash against Cronulla Sutherland at Pukekohe’s Navigation Hones Stadium on Sunday (1.00pm kick-off).

The Warriors had winning chances against the Steelers and the Raiders but failed to close out both games losing 24-32 and 14-18.

The mission against the Sharks won’t be easy. They’re sitting eighth on eight points coming off a 28-22 win over Penrith last weekend.

The Warriors will take a new halves combination into Sunday’s contest.

Wayde Egan's brother Tallan is again at standoff after coming into the side for Jesse Soric to make his debut last week while Soric is recalled and will wear the #7 jersey this time.
