A quirk in the draw means the One New Zealand Warriors face competition-leading Penrith for the second time in three weeks in Saturday’s 11th-round New South Wales Cup clash at North Sydney Oval (1.00pm kick-off local time; 3.00pm NZT).
The two sides met at North Harbour Stadium as recently as April 27 when the Warriors became the first side to check the Panthers’ relentless run of wins by holding them to a meritorious 22-22 draw.
Normal transmission resumed for Penrith the following week when they dismissed South Sydney 30-10 but then suffered their first loss of the year against second-placed Canterbury Bankstown last week (12-30).
The One New Zealand Warriors have bagged wins in the interim beating Newcastle 12-7 and the Sydney Roosters 26-20. That extended their unbeaten run to four matches with just two losses in their last seven matches to take them to sixth spot on the ladder.

Coach David Tangata-Toa is unlikely to have much NRL experience to call on this time with winger Edward Kosi the only player named on Tuesday with more than two first-grade appearances to his name.
The side submitted is heavy on players who are 20 years old or younger – winger Motu Pasikala, centre Sio Kali, standoff Luke Hanson, props Zyon Maiu’u and Tanner Stowers-Smith, hooker Makaia Tafua and second rower Eddie Ieremia plus hooker Jaydee Auloa, prop Toby Crosby and back rowers Leka Halasima and Kayliss Fatialoa on the bench.
Halasima makes a welcome return after missing the last four matches while half Luke Hanson is also back after being ruled out last week.
