Maxigesic Recovery Report: SJ set for Storm

Halfback Shaun Johnson’s comeback from injury has been delayed by a week.

The One New Zealand Warriors veteran was initially in line to return from his pectoral injury this week but is now being targeted for the round 15 home match against Melbourne on Saturday, June 15.

The 33-year-old suffered a minor pectoral strain in the round 10 encounter with the Sydney Roosters on May 12.

He missed the next two matches against Penrith and the Dolphins with a view to being cleared after the team’s round 13 bye last weekend.

Johnson was one of 11 players unavailable to face the Dolphins on May 26 but now seven of them are back.

Named in the extended squad for Saturday’s match against North Queensland are Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (illness), Rocco Berry (hand), Addin Fonua-Blake (stood down), Wayde Egan (concussion), Tohu Harris (finger), Kurt Capewell (calf) and Taine Tuaupiki (parental leave).

Centre Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is making progress from his hamstring injury and is now expected to be available for the round 16 away game against the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday, June 22.
