It’s a mark of the job the One New Zealand Warriors did on North Queensland that four of the starting forwards – including the entire front row – made the round 14 VB Hard Earned Team of the Week.
A complex formula with the accent on effort areas (see graphic below) is used for players to earn points – and on that score the Warriors dominated the pack after the outstanding 42-12 win over the Cowboys.
This team of the week isn't about tries scored, line breaks, line break assists, numbers of runs and the like.
It centres on tackle breaks, tackles made, decoys, support runs, runs over eight metres and more.
Front rower Addin Fonua-Blake earned 101 points in the index with converted prop Jackson Ford finishing with 88 points and hooker Wayde Egan with 52. Also earning a spot was second rower Mitchell Barnett with 78 points.
The only non-Warriors in the pack are Melbourne back rowers Eliesa Katoa and Trent Loiero.
