After their landmark visit to Fiji last week, the One New Zealand Warriors’ Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) side is on the road for the third straight week taking on the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval in Sydney on Saturday (10.55am kick-off local time; 12.55pm NZT).

The gruelling scheduled started with the Warriors’ clash against the Sydney Roosters at Wentworth Park on June 2 with a short six-day turnaround for their encounter with the Kaiviti Silktaisl in searing heat last Saturday.

Despite the amount of travel, they’ve come through the past month with their best run of form so far this season.

Since their round 10 loss to the Sydney Roosters followed by a bye, they’ve rebounded with three straight wins in accounting for Melbourne 28-24 at home, avenging their defeat at home by the Roosters with a 20-16 away victory and then another tense struggle before beating the Silktails 16-10.

With eight points in the last four weeks they’ve moved up to 13 points, only three points off sixth place.

After making his Jersey Flegg Cup debut in Lautoka, Wayde Egan’s younger brother Tallan again starts at fullback in a side which has been showing plenty of resilience in hanging tough with all opponents.
