Confirmed Lineup: Three changes to starting pack

Three late changes have been made to the One New Zealand Warriors’ starting pack for today’s NRL Heritage Round match against Brisbane at Go Media Stadium (5.00pm kick-off; match day sponsor: One New Zealand).

Mitchell Barnett moves from the second row to start at prop with Jackson Ford switched to the interchange, Kurt Capewell brought off the bench to fill Barnett’s spot in the second row.

In the third change Dylan Walker starts at loose forward with captain Tohu Harris going to the interchange.

The confirmed bench is Ford, Harris, Freddy Lussick and Jazz Tevaga with centre Moala Graham-Taufa the 18th man.

Barnett and Capewell back up after being involved in Wednesday night’s second State of Origin match in Melbourne.

Barnett went unused as 18th man as his New South Wales side beat Queensland 38-18 while Capewell came through two shifts – and 37 minutes in all - off the bench for the Maroons.

The players omitted from the original extended squad are prop Tom Ale, fullback Taine Tuaupiki, winger Edward Kosi and second rower Jacob Laban.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is also back after his one-match suspension replacing Edward Kosi in his regular spot on the right wing.

While boosted by the return of Barnett, Capewell and Watene-Zelezniak, the One New Zealand Warriors will be without the services of the vastly experienced Shaun Johnson, who has been sidelined for at least four weeks with a chronic Achilles tendon injury.

His absence sees Te Maire Martin switched to halfback and Chanel Harris-Tavita called in at standoff.

Other than Roger Tuivasa-Sheck in the centres for the injured Rocco Berry, the selected 17 is the same as the combination used in the 42-12 win over North Queensland on June 8.

First-year Warrior Capewell faces his former Brisbane side for the first time on a day which moves him within one appearance of his 150-game milestone.

The One New Zealand Warriors will wear their 2024 heritage jersey against the Broncos, a replica of the club’s original 1995 away strip.

The day doubles as the Warriors’ old boys’ reunion with more than 50 former players registered to attend.
