GWM Game Day Guide: It's good to be back

The long wait for a home game day is over with the One New Zealand Warriors back at Go Media Stadium after a four-week hiatus for their round 21 NRL encounter with the Wests Tigers on Friday night (8.00pm kick-off; match day sponsor: GWM).

On top of that it marks a return to the excitement of Friday night football for the first time since the season-opening clash against Cronulla Sutherland on March 8.

Fans have again underlined their phenomenal support for the One New Zealand Warriors by selling out the stadium for the eighth consecutive time this season (the sell-out confirmed a week out from game day).

The last time the One New Zealand Warriors were at home they produced an impressive bounce-back display to beat the Brisbane Broncos 32-16 just a week after their devastating loss to the Gold Coast Titans.

Since then they’ve had two gruelling contest, first a controversial 12-13 golden point loss to the Bulldogs in Sydney followed by a week off for their second bye and then an excruciating 18-20 defeat in Canberra last Friday night.

The NRL side will provide the main fare on the programme on Friday night but there’ll also be plenty of interest in the curtain raiser when the club’s in-from New South Wales Cup team takes on Western Suburbs (5.15pm kick-off).

Coming off a bye last weekend, the One New Zealand Warriors are third on the NSW Cup ladder. In their last start against the Eels, they recovered from a 4-28 halftime deficit with 42 unanswered points to win 46-28. When they met the Magpies in round 15 they won 36-6.

Gates open at 5.00pm ahead of another long-awaited Friday night lights experience which promises to provide something for everyone - two big games, an array of other entertainment on and around the ground and a halftime show presented by match day sponsor GWM (Great Wall Motors).
