For the second straight week it’s Friday night lights at Go Media Stadium and a huge cause for celebration to mark the One New Zealand Warriors completing their NRL history-making grand slam of home game sellouts.
With all tickets gone for Friday night’s clash against Parramatta and the August 23 encounter with the Bulldogs, the Warriors have scored an Olympic standard perfect 10 for sold-out games at Go Media Stadium and 11 in total for home games in New Zealand with the clash against Canberra in Christchurch.
With more than 270,000 tickets sold for the 11 games, the Warriors have eclipsed their success in 2023 when they sold out eight of their 12 games played in New Zealand.
And with the stadium packed again for Parramatta’s visit on Friday (8.00pm kick-off; game day sponsor: Maxigesic), members and fans can revel in the achievement of knowing they have backed their team to a level no other club has ever experienced in the competition’s history.
The round 22 match, the second of the 2024 Women in League Round, will be another knife-edge contest for the One New Zealand Warriors as they seek to secure a win to keep their season alive.
Last Friday night’s vital 28-16 victory over Wests Tigers was a much-needed boost following two desperately close and unlucky losses to the Bulldogs and the Raiders.
For the first time this season, members and fans – and the team – are able to enjoy back-to-back games at Go Media Stadium on a night when there will again be two games for the price of one with the two clubs facing each other in the New South Wales Cup curtain raiser (5.15pm kick-off).

There’ll be special interest in Luke Metcalf lining up in that game as he makes his comeback from more than four months on the sideline after breaking his right leg in the opening minutes for the round four match against Newcastle on March 31.
And in the main event it will be welcome back time for halfback Shaun Johnson and fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad after their injury lay-offs.
With gates opening at 5.00pm there’ll be ample entertainment apart from the on-field football action including Women in League features and a halftime show put on by game day sponsor Maxigesic.
Women in League moments to look out for:
- Coin toss and ball run out participants have been selected from the Warriors Community Foundation’s Tupu Māia programme (girls-only programme).
- Guard of honour for team warmups made up of women volunteers from each Auckland Rugby League club.
- Under-12 junior rugby league girls’ teams will run on with both teams in the second half wearing Women in League t-shirts.
- The Warriors Community Foundation is hosting a table in the Bayleys Club Lounge for women who work in the sport sector.
