Substantial funds were raised to support the Warriors Community Foundation and I Am Hope at a highly-successful charity luncheon at Go Media Stadium.
Co-hosted by I Am Hope and the One New Zealand Warriors, the event was held to provide support for the mental and physical wellbeing of rangatahi, generating substantial donations which will enable both charities to continue their crucial work in the community.
Masterfully hosted by Laura McGoldrick, the luncheon featured a light-hearted yet insightful discussion on mental health and wellbeing. Facilitated by former Warrior Anthony Gelling, current players Dylan Walker, Tohu Harris, Marcelo Montoya and Jazz Tevaga shared their personal experiences in a humorous and engaging segment that resonated deeply with attendees.
I Am Hope founder Mike King again took on the role of auctioneer extraordinaire, driving the fundraising efforts with his trademark enthusiasm.
The event also saw an impromptu fundraiser for talented champion New Zealand boxer Mea Motu, further highlighting the community's commitment to supporting local talent.
Warriors Community Foundation CEO Lincoln Jefferson expressed his heartfelt thanks during his speech.
“This luncheon has been an extraordinary success,” he said.
“We couldn’t have done it without the support of the Robinson family, the Warriors Community Foundation board members, Autex and the One New Zealand Warriors.
“Their dedication to our cause is making a real difference in the lives of our rangatahi.”
Jefferson said the foundation was deeply grateful to all who attended and contributed to the event, ensuring that both charities can continue their mission of fostering healthier, more confident communities.
