Recognition keeps rolling in for top of the props Fonua-Blake

Yet more recognition for One New Zealand Warriors prop Addin Fonua-Blake who, for the second straight year, has been named as a finalist for the Players’ Champion award to be announced during coverage of the NRL grand final on Sunday.

The RLPA today confirmed the 28-year-old on a list of five players vying for the peer-voted award.

He was also a finalist when teammate Shaun Johnson became the first Warrior to be awarded the ultimate accolade last year.

The other players on the 2024 short list are Melbourne’s Kiwi halfback Jahrome Hughes (named the Dally M Medal winner on Wednesday night), Sydney Roosters fullback James Tedesco, his teammate and second rower Angus Crichton and Canterbury Bankstown centre Stephen Crichton.

In his fourth and last season with the One New Zealand Warriors, Fonua-Blake has already picked up three major honours.

He was voted the players’ player of the year by his One New Zealand Warriors teammates and, for the second year running, was not only chosen by his NRL peers in the RLPA’s Players’ Dream Team but also made the Dally M team of the year.
