Details locked in for Las Vegas opener against Raiders

Full details have been confirmed for the One New Zealand Warriors’ NRL season-opening clash against the Canberra Raiders in Las Vegas next year.

The contest, an away match for the Warriors, will kick off at 1.00pm on Sunday, March 2 NZT (4.00pm, Saturday, March 1 local time) at Allegiant Stadium.

It’s set to hand debut club appearances for Kiwi captain and multi premiership winner James Fisher-Harris and 2024 Kiwi debutant Erin Clark – who has returned home from the Gold Coast Titans – while his Titans teammate Tanah Boyd and Cronulla-Sutherland hooker Sam Healey will also be in contention to play their first NRL match for the club.

The second NRL match between the four-time premiership-winning Penrith Panthers and the Canberra Sharks kicks off at 5.30pm on Sunday, March 2 NZT (8.30pm, Saturday, March 1 local times).

The bill also includes a women’s international between the Australian Jillaroos and the England Lionesses as well as a Super League clash between 2024 champions the Wigan Warriors and the Warrington Wolves.

The NRL has today announced details for the rest of the first round being played from Thursday, March 2 to Sunday, March 9.

In a heavyweight clash on Thursday, March 6 the Sydney Roosters will take on the Brisbane Broncos in Michael Maguire’s first outing as Brisbane head coach.
