Warriors play major role in Go Media Stadium award

Propelled by the One New Zealand Warriors’ record-setting home season, Go Media Stadium has been recognised as the country’s large venue of the year at the Event and Venues Association New Zealand (EVANZ) Awards.

The Warriors became the first club in NRL history to sell out every home game of the season, 10 of which were at Go Media Stadium.

The grand slam of sellouts helped the Warriors to the biggest total home game attendance in the club’s 30-season history.

Combined with concerts and other events, more than 520,000 patrons have been through the gates at Go Media Stadium this year culminating in the 2024 large venue of the year award. The EVANZ Awards recognise the contribution that venues have made to the events industry, the quality of event delivery and ongoing work to innovate and enhance at venues.

The One New Zealand Warriors’ home games and other events at Go Media Stadium have injected millions of dollars into Auckland’s economy.

“Huge congratulations to Go Media Stadium for winning the large venue of the year award,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“Go Media Stadium has been our home fortress for 30 seasons and we created history there this year with our record-breaking sellout home season.

“It's a truly special place for Warriors fans and we can’t wait to get back on home turf in March 2025 for the new NRL season.”

After their historic trip to Las Vegas, the One New Zealand Warriors kick off their 2025 home campaign with back-to-back Friday night home games against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (March 14) and the Sydney Roosters (March 21). Memberships are now on sale here.

“It’s been a sensational year for Go Media Stadium – one that will live long in the memory for over half a million patrons,” said Tātaki Auckland Unlimited CEO Nick Hill says.

“I want to thank our tenants and hirers whose events delivered this year have rewritten the rulebook for what can be achieved.”
