One New Zealand Warriors winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak will have surgery after fracturing and dislocating his left wrist in Friday night’s Preseason Challenge clash against Cronulla Sutherland in Sydney.

The injury happened just eight minutes into the match when he was taken into touch by Cronulla’s William Kennedy and Kayal Iro.

A timeline for Watene-Zelezniak’s return is yet to be confirmed.

Centres Adam Pompey and Rocco Berry plus halfback Tanah Boyd were all unavailable for the Warriors’ second and final Preseason Challenge match against Melbourne at FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton on Saturday (3.30pm kick-off).

Pompey has a low-grade minor hand injury which ruled him out of the men’s Māori All Stars side for Saturday’s match against the Indigenous All Stars in Sydney while Boyd is sidelined with a low-grade calf injury.

Both players will be available for the Warriors’ round one NRL match against Canberra in Las Vegas on Match 1 (March 2 NZT).

Berry is improving from a brachial plexus injury, He remains sidelined indefinitely.
