Playing on New Zealand soil after two straight away games provides a timely boost for the One New Zealand Warriors for their third-round SG Ball Cup (under-19) match against Canterbury Bankstown on Saturday.

Not only that but the Shannon Rushworth-coached side is also playing on a big stage in the curtain raiser to the One New Zealand Warriors' NRL Preseason Challenge clash against Melbourne at Hamilton's FMG Stadium Waikato (1.10pm kick-off).

After losses to Manly Warringah (14-28) and Penrith (8-28), the Warriors face a Bulldogs team coming off a 24-10 win over Western Suburbs after a 22-40 defeat by Canberra in round one.

Rushworth has listed two changes to the starting forward pack with Junior Sikuvea (De La Salle College), who made seven SG Ball Cup appearances last year, starting at prop and Turama Paranihi (Ngā Taiātea Wharekura, Hamilton) at hooker after being on the bench in the first two rounds.

The backline is unchanged while Rico Lemalie (Christ’s College, Christchurch) and Joseph Ratcliffe (Palmerston North Boys’ High School) are chances to debut from the bench.

Lemalie has been selected in the #14 jersey with Ratcliffe in #18. Ratcliffe was the fullback for the club’s champion Harold Matthews Cup (under-17) side last season.
