Manly Warringah will provide another exacting challenge for the One New Zealand Warriors in Saturday’s second-round Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) clash at Navigation Homes Stadium in Pukekohe (12.00pm kick-off).

The Warriors are coming off a disappointing start to their campaign when they were on the end of a 4-50 loss to a powerful Canberra side in Sydney.

Their only try of the match had them just 4-12 down after 25 minutes and 4-16 behind at halftime but the Raiders were in complete control in the second half.

Needing a response this week, the Warriors will need to find their best to compete with the Sea Eagles, who also started impressively in round one with a 38-8 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

They have to do so without halfback Jett Cleary, sidelined this week as he follows head injury protocols after a head knock last Saturday.

Christchurch-born James Marriott, who left for Australia with his family when he was four, comes in at halfback. Joining the Warriors on a train and trial opportunity for the preseason, he was playing for the Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Mal Meninga Cup last season.

There’s only one other change to the starting lineup used against the Raiders with St Thomas of Canterbury College product Jason Salalilo named at loose forward and Etuate Fukofuka switched to the interchange.
