One New Zealand Warriors players will wear a special Anzac Round warmup tee for their NRL clash against Newcastle at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch on Anzac Day.
On sale from today (Thursday, April 10), the warmup tee design pays homage to past and current Anzac soldiers.
It features emotional reference elements to the First World War Anzac Day campaign when so many New Zealand and Australian soldiers lost their lives in battle at Gallipoli.
The camouflage design includes both the New Zealand and Australia flags on the left sleeve and the New Zealand Defence Forces (NZDF) badge is on the right sleeve to honour all armed forces. The red and black cuffs on the sleeves acknowledge the Canterbury region.
The red poppy is prominent on the front of the shirt with maps of New Zealand and Australia placed just below the neckline on the back.
